What We Do

In addition to ongoing agency partnerships, we identify special needs and opportunities. With your generous United Way contribution, we are getting to the heart of problems and creating lasting changes.

Food Resource Center

Food is arguably the most basic need for families and individuals in our communities. United Way’s Food Resource Center distributes large quantities of donated boxed, canned and fresh food to food pantries, the homeless and domestic abuse shelters and community meal programs. Please visit our Food Resource Center pages for updates on this exciting project we are working on.

Success By 6

Our community partnership, Success By 6, is working to ensure that all children in our region get the same high quality start in life. We are providing resources to help parents prepare their children for school success. Please visit our Success By 6 pages for more details and progress.

Grace Place

United Way continues its leadership support for transitional housing by supporting Grace Place and Faith House. Residents receive counseling and support as they transition to permanent housing. Please visit our Grace Place pages for more information and the latest news.

Disaster Response

United Way Worldwide has created the United Way Worldwide Disaster Fund, introduced a text-to-give program, and is coordinating the integration of efforts from United Ways around the world in response to the Haiti earthquake. For more information on United Way's work in Haiti, visit our Disaster Response page.

2-1-1

Childcare, food, housing, transportation and senior service resources are at your fingertips with United Way's 2-1-1 network. For more information on how you can use 2-1-1 to access thousands of local resources via telephone and the Internet, visit our 2-1-1 page.
