Our workplace Campaign Champions are invaluable partners to United Way St. Croix Valley. By engaging their organizations, Campaign Champions help lead the fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Western Wisconsin. Our Campaign Champions are helping rebuild the future of our community – a better future for each of us.
GETTING STARTED
If you would like to start a campaign at your workplace, United Way St. Croix Valley will provide the tools that you need for planning and implementing a campaign. With the help and guidance of United Way staff, you can run a successful campaign even if you have never participated in the past. To get started, contact Steve McCarthy, Executive Director, for an overview and consultation. You will be most successful by offering employees the option of having a modest amount deducted from their check each pay period. Most businesses then send payments to us on a monthly or quarterly basis.
WHAT SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGNS DO
- Show CEO and/or leadership team’s public support of campaign
- Create and train a campaign team
- Set goals
- Make your campaign FUN and engaging
- Include speakers/videos to show the impact of donations
- Include special events
- Send follow-up emails to remind employees of campaign events and deadlines
- Thank donors and volunteers
In addition to the many tools we make available to our Campaign Champions, your best resource is the United Way staff who are here to assist you throughout your campaign, providing advice and helpful tips to ensure your success. Please don't hesitate to reach out!

Donors now have the option to complete an online pledge form. As a Campaign Champion, you can indicate whether you would like this option available for your work site when you start your campaign.
