Yesterday, many of us went back to work, rested and well-fed after a long weekend spent celebrating Thanksgiving with the family. For many, it is a time of gratitude - and perhaps a bit too much food! But for some in our community, it is a season of struggle - juggling work, parenting, and paying the bills on an already-tight budget.
At United Way St. Croix Valley, we're here to help these struggling families by supporting food pantries across Western Wisconsin. And today for #givingTuesday, we are holding a Virtual Food Drive to supply healthy food to food pantries.
And, best of all, a generous donor will match Virtual Food Drive donations up to $5,000 to make an even greater impact.
Today, on #givingTuesday, you can help families - right here in Western Wisconsin - put healthy food on the table. You can help people like Beckah, who told us:
"Our family is struggling with mounting medical bills, crushing debt from school and school loans, and borrowing from one paycheck to pay the bills for the next. I call us 'the working poor.' Sometimes we need the food pantry to make ends meet. THANK YOU for helping us. I am so grateful!"
