211 St. Croix Valley Volunteer Information & Referral Support
211 St. Croix Valley is the service that connects people with resources like training, employment, food pantries, help for an aging
parent, addiction prevention programs, affordable housing options, support groups, and more. Volunteers help people connect with resources that can assist them by answering 211 phones. Volunteers work 1-2 shifts a month or more if desired. Volunteer shifts are flexible and available from 8:30 am 4:30 pm Monday - Friday. Volunteers work 1-2 shifts a month or more as desired.
Mobile Food Pantry – Food Pick up
Once a month volunteers will help with Mobile Pantry food pick up in Baldwin and off load at John Coughlin Food and Resource Center in Hudson. 6:15 am – 8:30 am. (Volunteers needed: 1 volunteer to help load; 1-3 to help unload at John Coughlin Food and Resource Center)
Mobile Food Pantry- Van Loading
1-2 days a month help to load van with food for mobile pantry deliveries. Loading happens at John Coughlin Food and Resource Center between 7:30 and 8:30 am on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and the last Thursday of the month. (Volunteers needed 2-4 people per day)
Monthly Food Distribution Milk Pick up
The First Monday of the month volunteers will help load and unload milk that is donated to the 15 area food pantries and shelters in Pierce & St. Croix County. (Volunteers needed: 2-3)
United Way SCV Weekly Food Rescue
Mondays and Thursdays each week United Way SCV volunteers collect veggies and fruits from Family Fresh Grocery Store that are still good to distribute but need to be taken off their shelves. These items are distributed to Food Pantries in Pierce and St. Croix County at the John Coughlin Food and Resource Center. Volunteer shifts are from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. (Volunteers needed: 1-2)
United Way SCV Food Pantry Garden
We are looking for a group of individuals help tending and harvesting veggies from our garden at the John Coughlin Food and Resource Center (JCFRC) for the rest of this season (until the frost) and to plan, plant and tend the garden next summer. The garden is a small plot next to the JCFRC on Badlands Road. All equipment is provided, volunteers bring their gardening know how and some friends to help grow great veggies to be distributed to 15 local pantries and shelters. This is done at a time that is convenient for the volunteers. (Volunteers needed: 2 managers; weekly volunteers 4 – 10 families.)
